11/16/08: Wow... the fires in Montecito...
... are eerily reminiscent of the fires in Malibu last year. From what I'm told, even a bit of PV caught fire.
The fires made the air temperature noticeably hotter, turning the sky this nice shade of sickly yellow. Seeing little white flakes of ash drift through the air was more than a little weird, and there's nothing quite like coming out to the parking lot to see my car buried under a thin layer of soot and ash.
In other words, 
9/18/08: Things are getting better...
As the stock market implodes, I seem to be doing pretty well for myself. I should be able to get in a student teaching gig sometime this week or the next, so I can actually get some student observations done.
08/11/08: My Cup Runneth Over...
Ta-dow! And there it is, the official word that I've passed the CSET! 
While I haven't been worried about passing, waiting on pins and needles for the results hasn't been much fun either.
Especially when it's what keeping me from getting a real teaching job. 
But there's definitely a sense of relief, as now I can get things moving, and move from the corporate holding pattern I currently seem to be stuck in, and bounce into something better.
